Description
Nielsen Landscape Architects, LLC is seeking a talented, highly creative, and detail-oriented Senior Landscape Designer to join our landscape architecture studio. Our practice specializes in luxury residential estates and resort and hospitality projects throughout South Florida, the Bahamas, and the Caribbean.
We are seeking a designer with exceptional aesthetic sensibility, strong technical expertise, and a passion for crafting timeless, highly personalized outdoor environments. This role offers the opportunity to lead extraordinary projects while working within a collaborative, design-driven studio that values creativity, refinement, and attention to detail.
The Senior Landscape Designer will play a key leadership role within the studio, overseeing projects from initial concept through construction documentation and implementation. The Senior Landscape Designer will lead project teams, help guide design direction, maintain the highest standards of quality and execution, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients throughout the design process.
The ideal candidate is equally comfortable developing compelling design concepts, mentoring team members, managing complex project schedules, and ensuring that every project reflects the level of sophistication and excellence that defines our work.
Requirements
Design Leadership
- Lead the design and development of bespoke residential estates and luxury hospitality projects from concept through construction.
- Create thoughtful, site-responsive, and highly customized landscapes that reflect client lifestyle, architecture, and vision.
- Develop master plans, conceptual studies, presentation materials, detailed design packages, and construction documentation.
- Collaborate closely with principal to maintain the firm's distinctive design aesthetic and creative vision.
- Guide projects through all phases while ensuring exceptional design quality and attention to detail
Project Leadership & Management
- Serve as the project lead for multiple concurrent projects, overseeing scope, schedule, deliverables, and project execution
- Establish and manage project timelines, internal milestones, and team workflows.
- Coordinate closely with architects, interior designers, engineers, contractors, and specialty consultants.
- Maintain accountability for project quality, efficiency, and timely delivery.
Client Experience
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients throughout the design process.
- Lead client presentations, project meetings, and design discussions with professionalism and confidence.
- Develop trusted relationships through exceptional communication, responsiveness, and service.
- Translate client aspirations into meaningful and highly personalized outdoor environments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture or Urban Design from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 4–7 years of professional experience in landscape architecture or related design fields.
- Demonstrated experience working on high-end residential, hospitality, or similarly design-intensive projects.
- Exceptional design sensibility and strong graphic communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite; experience with Rhino, SketchUp, Lumion, and other visualization software is preferred.
- Thorough understanding of landscape construction documentation, detailing, and project coordination.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects while maintaining a high level of creativity and attention to detail.
