Deputy Building Official City of Newport News, Virginia Codes Compliance Department
Help lead building safety for one of Virginia's major cities!
The City of Newport News is seeking a Deputy Building Official to help direct the administration and enforcement of the Virginia Uniform Statewide

Reporting to the Building Official, you'll lead our plan review and inspection staff, oversee permits and certificates of occupancy, and act as Building Official in their absence. This is a senior leadership role for an experienced code professional ready to shape building safety across a growing city.
Target Salary Range: $72,000 - $87,000 Based on Experience
What you'll do

- Work closely with architects, engineers, developers, and other City departments; investigate complaints and initiate actions up to legal proceedings
