The Role
The position of Combination Building Inspector will suit an individual with strong expertise and knowledge in the construction field, ensuring our company's projects and initiatives are executed to the highest safety and efficiency standards.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct inspections on-site to verify that construction projects are being built according to the approved plans and the applicable codes.
Ensure that all construction work meets applicable building codes and regulations including building, mechanical, plumbing and structural aspects.
Ability to communicate effectively with registered design professionals, contractors, and the public.
Capable of reviewing construction plans for compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Provide feedback to customers on code issues and offer guidance on code interpretations.
Ability to identify code violations, analyze construction issues, and provide solutions.
Ability to address issues and resolve conflicts that may arise during construction.
Document all inspection results and maintain records in a systematic manner using CCI’s software.
Attend code classes to maintain ICC certifications either in person or electronically.
Reports to the Chief Building Official. This is a non-supervisory position.
Job Expectations
This person would be available and responsive Monday through Friday during business hours (excluding personal vacation and holidays) to perform inspections as assigned by the Chief Building Official. Employees are expected to be self-motivated and follow through on tasks assigned with minimal supervision.
Expect occasional travel to construction projects outside of the Denver/Metro area.
Requirements
License and Certificates:
Possession of valid Colorado driver's license.
Possession of, or ability to obtain within 1 year from the date of employment, ICC certifications in Commercial Building, Plumbing, and Mechanical Inspections.
A Colorado licensed journeyman electrician, or journeyman plumber or higher is preferred.

PTO: 40 hours of sick leave annually as well as a potential to earn 40 hours of PTO during the first year and additional hours each year depending on the number of years with CCI. PTO that isn't used may be paid out at year-end or rolled over to the next year (up to 40 hours).

Short-Term & Long-Term Disability Coverage. CCI has a policy with The Hartford. Coverage will be provided for employee.
Continuing Education. CCI will reimburse employee for the cost of taking and passing any ICC certification exams that will benefit the company. Pre-approval from CBO is required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
