Salary Range: $73,257 - $92,788

The City of Breckenridge is seeking a qualified and motivated Building Official/Zoning Administrator to join our team. This position plays a key role in community development, code enforcement, zoning administration, and public improvement projects.

GENERAL DUTIES
Reviews new and alteration building construction plans for compliance with State & City codes.
Issues building permits.
Inspects and re-inspects properties to ensure compliance with applicable codes, ordinances and standards.
Assists with the planning, design, construction and inspection of public improvement projects.
Inspects rental properties to issue Certificate of Health and Safety.
Prepares for and attends various meetings.
Public Nuisance Abatement.
Assists the Planning Commission with various applications including variances, conditional use, zoning amendments, and platting.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Considerable knowledge of construction methods, municipal policies, building codes, zoning regulations, and public works practices. Education and experience sufficient enough to demonstrate the ability to review plans, administer projects, enforce codes, and ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
Minnesota Drivers License.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Products.
Certified Building Official, or the ability to obtain certification.
