Associate Designer
Residential & Commercial

Growth Role
About the opportunity
We are a design-forward architecture and interior design firm known for delivering exceptional work across both residential and commercial sectors. We are looking for an Associate Designer who is serious about the craft — someone who shows up prepared, takes ownership of their work, and holds themselves to a standard that doesn’t need to be enforced from the outside.
This is a role for a designer who is early enough in their career to still be building their toolkit, but mature enough to work without hand-holding. You will work closely with senior designers and project managers, contributing meaningfully to real projects from day one. If you have the drive to grow fast and the discipline to do the work well, this is the place to do it.
What you will contribute
– Support project managers and senior designers across active residential and commercial projects, from schematic design through construction administration
– Develop design concepts, space plans, material palettes, and presentation drawings under direction — and increasingly on your own as you grow
– Prepare construction documents, specifications, and finish schedules with accuracy and attention to detail
– Conduct product research, vendor coordination, and procurement support to keep projects on track
– Participate in client meetings and site visits, presenting work professionally and absorbing feedback constructively
– Contribute to studio life — pin-ups, critiques, and design conversations are part of how we get better together
– Meet deadlines without being reminded, and flag problems early rather than quietly hoping they resolve themselves
Who succeeds in this role
We are looking for someone who takes feedback as seriously as they take their own ideas. The best junior designers we have ever hired had strong opinions and the humility to refine them. They asked smart questions, did not wait to be told what to do next, and treated every project — no matter the size — as worth doing right.
This role requires genuine commitment to the work. Projects move at the speed of real life, which means timelines shift, priorities stack, and some weeks ask more than others. We are not looking for someone counting hours — we are looking for someone invested in outcomes. Candidates who struggle to adapt to a dynamic studio environment or who need significant schedule accommodation may find this role a poor fit.
We welcome ambition. If you want to grow into a senior designer or project manager, this is a place that will challenge and support that path — but you have to show up ready to earn it.
Skills & attributes
– Solid foundational knowledge of residential and commercial design principles, materials, and construction methods
– Ability to produce clean, accurate drawings and documentation — you understand that the document is part of the design
– Strong visual communication skills — sketching, rendering, or presentation layout that can hold a room
– Receptive to direction and critique, with the self-awareness to incorporate feedback without taking it personally
– Organized and reliable — you manage your own tasks, hit your deadlines, and keep your team informed
– Collaborative by nature, competitive only with your own past work
– Proficiency in Revit is required; experience with additional design or visualization tools is a plus
