Construction Support Specialist shall provide construction supportfor technical field oversight and
performance to ensure work is being performed in compliance withOSHA regulations, all state and
local codes, compliance with all accepted industry standards, client'spolicies and procedures, and the service agreement.
JobDuties and Responsibilities:
• Participate in all EHS activities andreporting
• Assist in monitoring the safety,environmental, and quality management of the Work
• Represent the Owner in the field andcoordinating with the EPC contractor to ensure construction and commissioningwork is performed in accordance with project documents, codes, and goodindustry practice
• Review engineering drawings
• Participate and lead meetings with the clientproject team and EPC
• Provide input to daily/weekly/monthly reports
• Manage and resolve issues and non-conformances
• Support and drive issue resolution and lessonslearned
• Act as the Owners Quality Assurance andperform routine audits of the EPC QA/QC program
• Document findings in the field through fieldobservation reports
• Participate and lead system turnover walkdownsand verification
• Assist Owner Project Controls in projectquantity tracking and progress reporting
Qualifications(Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
• High School Diploma or the equivalent;
• Associates Degree or higher in ElectricalEngineering/Engineering Technology preferred;
• Requires more than ten (10) years' experiencein the Electric Utility Transmission, Distribution, Substation or Nuclearfacilities industry (or other similar plant industries);
• Requires ten (10) or more years' experiencewith equipment and/or systems installation and commissioning at industrialfacilities;
• Must be knowledgeable and be able to interpretand cite OSHA regulations and provide guidance to construction crews and uppermanagement on the proper application of these regulations in the workplace.
WorkingConditions:
• Work is primarily conducted at ProjectConstruction Sites within Utility Company service area (may require occasionaltravel to other services areas). Thismight include electric Substations, Transmission and Distribution lines.
• Interaction with other team members, as wellas supervisors and client personnel.
• Must be able to wear safety equipment asrequired by the safety department for personal protection.
• May be at more than one job site in a day andmust be able to tolerate climate changes.
• Must be able to lift and carry twenty (20)pounds;
• Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing orother communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation,which permits employee to communicate effectively;
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods of timewith or without reasonable accommodation;
• Sufficient vision or other powers ofobservation, with or without reasonable accommodations, which permits employeeto conduct analysis and investigations;
• Sufficient manual dexterity with or withoutreasonable accommodation, which permit the employee to perform routine officeduties;
• Sufficient personal mobility and physicalreflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations to perform office dutiesand travel when necessary to off-site locations.
