Miami Lakes Golf Club, a property of the Graham Hospitality Division of The Graham Companies, is entering an exciting new chapter - and we are looking for a driven, passionate, and technically skilled Assistant Superintendent to help lead it.
The Club has recently completed a $13 million comprehensive golf course renovation, significantly elevating course conditions, infrastructure, and overall playing experience. In addition, over $1.5 million has been invested in new golf course maintenance equipment and advanced turf technology, positioning our maintenance operation at the forefront of modern golf course management.
Surrounding the course, the property is undergoing dynamic growth, including construction of:
- A new 7-story luxury apartment community
- Retail development
- A brand-new clubhouse
- A technologically enhanced driving range

Position Summary
The Assistant Superintendent will play a key leadership role in maintaining and enhancing a newly renovated championship-caliber golf course. Working closely with the Golf Course Superintendent, this position supports all daily maintenance operations while helping maximize the return on our recent infrastructure and technology investments.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who thrives in a high-performance environment and is excited to work with state-of-the-art equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities
Turf & Agronomic Management
- Assist in managing the newly renovated golf course to the highest agronomic standards.
- Monitor turf health and execute fertilization, aerification, topdressing, and pest management programs.
- Ensure optimal playability and presentation following major capital improvements.
- Apply fertilizers and pesticides in compliance with regulations.
- Assist with irrigation system scheduling, monitoring, troubleshooting, and repairs.
Technology & Equipment Operations
- Operate and oversee robotic mowers, GPS-guided sprayers, and advanced turf management technology.
- Maximize the effectiveness of over $1.5 million in newly invested maintenance equipment.
- Utilize data-driven turf management systems and software to improve efficiency and course conditions.
- Assist with troubleshooting, optimizing, and maintaining high-tech irrigation and application systems.
- Stay current with emerging golf course technologies and best practices.
Leadership During Growth & Development
- Maintain high course standards during adjacent construction activity.
- Coordinate operations to minimize disruption from surrounding development projects.
- Supervise, train, and mentor maintenance team members.
- Assign daily tasks to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Lead operations in the absence of the Superintendent.
Operations & Administration
- Assist with budgeting, purchasing, and inventory management.
- Maintain compliance records and chemical application documentation.
- Support ongoing improvements aligned with the Club's long-term master plan.
What We're Looking For
Experience & Education
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field preferred.
- 2-5 years of golf course maintenance experience.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience managing irrigation systems.
- Experience working with robotic mowers, GPS sprayers, and turf technology systems strongly preferred.
- Valid state pesticide applicator license (or ability to obtain within required timeframe).
- GCSAA membership preferred.

Schedule Requirements
- Early mornings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required by seasonal conditions.

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely operate maintenance equipment.
