Summary/Objective:
The Sr. Electrical Estimator is responsible for estimating the cost, time, materials, labor, and equipment for construction projects, as well as perform cost analyses, determine the duration of a project, procure pricing from vendors and subcontractors, and ensure that resources are managed, and deadlines are met. This position requires no direct supervision.
Essential Functions:

- Determines the total cost of materials, equipment, utilities, and labor for construction projects.
- Research construction documents and analyze specifications.
- Reviews RFPs/design docs and prepares RFIs as needed.
- Prepares estimates to meet project goals, such as setting work hours, sequencing tasks, obtaining materials, and securing the best deals with vendors and subcontractors.
- Manages pre-qualifications and pre-bid submissions.
- Creates the project BOM for the estimate and submits it for pricing.
- Updates the estimating tracker daily.
- Ensures that relevant documents and budgets are submitted before a bid deadline.
- Formulates contingency plans and effectively manages risks that might impact cost and time estimates.
- Keeps up to date with the latest estimating technology and industry-related trends.
- Collaborates with other teams and conducts site visits as needed.
- Attends estimate review meetings.
- Assists with project management tasks as needed.
- Maintains an elevated level of professionalism with clients, vendors, and colleagues; works to establish a positive working relationship.
- Provides timely and completed documentation of work performed.
- Operates vehicles and other equipment safely; adheres to safety protocols; reports hazards and risks; behavior contributes to a safe and secure working environment.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree and/or equivalent education and experience
- 7+ years of estimating experience
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Applied Science or Architecture or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years of Electrical, Mechanical, or Infrastructure estimating experience
- Commercial general contractor/construction experience
- PMP Certification
