The Role
Reporting to the Vice President of Construction & Engineering, the Director of Construction Services - Owned Capex will oversee assigned equity hotel capex projects as the Owner's Representative to provide complete Project Manager services (planning, vendor contract engagement, design management, procurement oversight, construction oversight, project close out) for the Asset Management team on Hyatt owned assets and selective oversight and advisory services related to supporting pre-opening projects for non-owned Hyatt properties.
- This team member will use established standards and guidelines to advise owners and consultants through active listening and thoughtful communication.
- Additionally, this team member will influence and carry out forward thinking initiatives and evolving brand updates relating to the role's responsibilities.
- Lead project status and execution reviews and dialogue to assist architects, contractors, and other outside consultants throughout the design & construction process.
- Be fully knowledgeable and conversant on Hyatt's established brand components, design documents and technical standards.
- Conduct strategic and valuable site visits both in person and virtually to oversee the construction process and guide projects successfully for both owned and managed/franchised projects.
- Help determine in collaboration with internal development teams appropriate opportunities, boundaries, and flexibility for projects to be successful.

Be knowledgeable and continue to learn about best practices, industry standards and new products as it relates to hotel design & construction. - Work in a cross-functional manner with internal teams to understand how to holistically serve asset management.
Qualifications
Experience Required:
- 10+ years with long tenure working for or with hotel owners / brands focusing on project management
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in architecture, engineering, interior architecture or related field required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Blubeam Revu; familiarity with Autodesk and Smartsheet
Experience Preferred:
- Construction management experience

- Strong knowledge of building codes, and related requirements
- Ability to build relationships and gain credibility quickly
- Resourceful, collaborative nature, team player mind-set, possess a can-do attitude
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to engage confidently with senior executives and influence effectively
- Strong organizational skills and detail-orientation with ability to heavily multitask
- A natural curiosity to evaluate and analyze business problems from a variety of perspectives
- Able to work independently under general supervision for initiative and independent judgment
- Ability to travel throughout the Americas approximately 30-40%.
- Must understand architectural drawings/specifications and have familiarity with ADA/IBC regulations.
- Knowledge of various building types, MEP systems, construction planning processes and cost methods.
- Management, people leadership or mentor experience is valued.

The salary range for this position is $131,300-$175,000. This role is also eligible for the Annual Incentive Plan.
The final pay rate/salary offered to the successful candidate will depend on experience, skill level and other qualifications for the role, as well as the location of the performance of work. Pay for the successful candidate will meet local requirements, including the local minimum wage rate.
