Position Summary
The Construction Administrator supports the project manager and project architect in the documentation and processing of construction submittals and contractor Requests for Information (RFI's). The Construction Administrator will represent the firm to the client and the contractor, attend construction progress meetings, prepare observation reports, and coordinate materials samples and selections. This role will also develop and maintain tracking of submittal register with the support of the project assistant. They will also ensure project construction phase documentation is complete and appropriately filed. The Construction Administrator will support design teams by providing input on construction approaches and building systems in the design phase.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The following inexhaustive list of duties represents a sample of work routinely performed by this role:
Document construction activities and evaluate progress of projects and participate in various construction progress meetings and maintain records of construction progress. Manage correspondence with architect, client, and contractor to ensure project documentation. Monitors projects in construction, prepares progress reports for same, and develops punch lists and substantial completion/turnover documents for project close out. Collaborates with the design team and gathers and evaluates all contractor requested change orders and maintain logs of all shops drawings and submittals and submit same for approval and return to contractor with the support of the project assistant. Coordinates with the project manager to review and maintain invoicing; review and certify all contractor payment requests. Attends meetings for construction phase projects and issue notices, architect's supplemental instructions, and proposal requests to contractors if required. Works collectively with project manager and client and recommends changes to contract documents if required. Ensures compliance to all company safety requirements for field services.Quality Control
Ensure owner requirements are being met. Assist in ensuring the firm's level of performance meets the owner's expectation.Qualifications and Experience
Education + Degree
Required: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, or a field where similar knowledge and skills are acquired.Experience, Certification, or Licensure
LEED AP or LEED GA are highly preferred. 10+ years of experience in the construction industry serving in a Construction Administration, Quality Assurance/Control, or Project Management role. Possess knowledge of construction standards and best practices. Experience working with diverse project types. Ability to monitor, supervise, direct, and provide feedback to construction contractors. Strong verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to organize and engage effectively. Proven ability to collaborate effectively under tight deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities. Enjoys taking initiative to solve problems independently and excel in dynamic, fast-paced environment. Must have Real ID or Passport in order to undergo commercial airfare travel.Must have valid driver's license.Technical + Professional Skills
Proficient in Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams. Expertise in Adobe and/or Bluebeam Studio. Advanced proficiency in project management tools, including Microsoft Project.Work Environment
This is a hybrid position with periodic travel ( 20%) to project sites and client locations.
This position primarily operates in a professional office setting with standard office equipment and a quiet, climate-controlled environment. While in the office, there is no regular exposure to loud noise, hazardous materials, or heavy machinery.
This role also requires periodic travel to project sites, including locations undergoing renovation or active construction. During site visits, the employee may be exposed to non-temperature-controlled environments, construction noise, dust, and other typical conditions found on job sites. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required during these visits, depending on site conditions. While on site visits, an individual in this role will be required to work atypical hours at the request of the client or role demands.
Physical Demands
Sitting/Standing: This is not a sedentary role. This role requires the ability to be on your feet moving around a construction site for most of the day interacting with contractors, contractor representatives, and inspecting the construction work that is being performed.
Walking: This role requires the ability to move about outside in various geographic and building terrains to access a construction site to provide quality assurance services.
Stooping/Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling: This role requires stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and ladder climbing to inspect all aspects of building construction to foundations, crawlspaces, and roofs.
Using Hands/Fingers: This role constantly operates technological office equipment such as laptop, mouse, keyboard, computer monitors, telephones, and scanners, copiers, and fax machines.
Talking/Hearing: This role requires constant communication with others in the organization to exchange information, review information, and make decisions about information.
Seeing: This role requires the ability to see, view, and distinguish all aspects of construction to ensure quality control.
Carrying/Lifting: This role requires lifting up to 30 lbs to transport technological office equipment, safety equipment, and other needed construction items to and from various workspaces.
