King County Library System (KCLS), located in Washington State's King County, is seeking an outgoing, experienced, and collaborative Construction Project Manager. This position acts as owner's representative on all major and routine construction projects throughout the library system, which includes 48 community library buildings, a shipping warehouse, and an administrative office building.The successful candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to interact and negotiate with all levels of employees, contractors, consultants, and vendors and will maintain a positive approach to problem solving on assigned projects. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be passionate about public service and engaging in work that directly supports local communities.The Construction Project Manager position will oversee construction work for the Boulevard Park Library and the new Kent Panther Lake Library as part of the current KCLS Capitol Bond Projects. For these current projects, this position will manage weekly construction meetings as the owner's representative in the day-to-day construction actives, working directly with the architect and general contractor. Required Education and Experience:• Bachelor's degree specializing in Architecture, Construction Project Management, Engineering or closely related field• Four to five years experience in construction related work, preferably in public works• If no Bachelor's degree, a minimum of 5 - 7 years of experience in comprehensive work in the construction trade is required.Other minimum requirements include:• Basic knowledge of all construction trades/systems (Civil, Architectural, Carpentry, Plumbing, HVAC, Electrical).• Computer-aided drafting experience; completed course in AutoCAD.• One to two years experience in Microsoft Office software.• One to two years experience in space planning.• One to two years of Facility Management experience preferred.• Six months experience in Herman Miller office system components preferred.
