Job Description PROJECT MANAGER, OPERATIONS, Facilities-Repair and Maintenance (R&M)-Operations and Maintenance Operations, to define facility requirements and implement multiple complex construction projects, coordinating and managing projects from design through closeout and turnover phases. Will manage each project--with specific characteristics regarding size, cost, and complexity--from beginning to end; facilitate customers' needs and priorities while meeting quality, time, and budget expectations; serve as an important resource in an expanding capital renewal program that includes buildings, roofs, facades, foundations, MEP/FP systems, and other infrastructure upgrades; prepare schematics scoping for projects and securing approvals; develop project plans, including schedules and construction budgets; coordinate efforts with appropriate planning, engineering, and design staff to review drawings and specifications for conformance with engineering practices and Institute requirements; manage oversight of A/E and CM/GC firms; review bids and contracts for materials and construction services against project requirements; and prepare correspondence, reports, and project records.
Job Requirements REQUIRED: bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management, or engineering discipline; project scheduling and Microsoft Office proficiency; five years' progressive experience managing small, midsize, and large capital projects as part of a larger program; full knowledge of relevant Massachusetts' building codes and regulations; strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate and work effectively with people of all levels in a demanding environment; demonstrated ability to act decisively and independently to resolve or escalate complex issues; excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to give presentations and prepare written technical reports; ability to influence, negotiate, and form alliances with a variety of peers/clients; and ability to listen to other opinions and incorporate those ideas into work plans.
