The Ethel Walker School is a vibrant, academically-focused all-girls college-preparatory secondary school of 250 students (6-8 day, 9-12 boarding and day) in Simsbury, CT that seeks an experienced, highly motivated individual to serve as the Director of Operations and Facilities beginning immediately. This position oversees various aspects of the school dealing with the operations of the physical plant and directs the maintenance and improvement operations of facilities and vehicles, including preventative maintenance and related budgets. This position reports to the Chief Financial Officer and the Head of School.
Develops campus safety program including staff oversight and the refinement of emergency response protocols, procedures, documentation, implementation and training.
Effective communications and attention to detail with capacities to manage multiple projects.
Skilled at project planning, management of construction scheduling and cost estimating.
Effective leader and staff manager, with strong service orientation needed in a school community.
Ability to manage capital projects; develop, coordinate and communicate plans, report on progress in an environment of accountability.
Knowledge of athletic field maintenance, landscaping and pesticide management in a school setting and on a campus with livestock preferred.
Fluency on OSHA job safety requirements
Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
