FACILITIES COORDINATOR, Mechanical Engineering, to manage complex, decentralized operations and facilities for the department. Responsibilities include coordinating and monitoring renovation and construction projects; arranging for and coordinating the effective and timely resolution of repair and maintenance issues and emergency situations; coordinating routine work for carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, metal, glass, locks, etc.; meeting with department members to discuss needed changes and overseeing all work done through Facilities; acting as the key liaison with central Facilities and outside service providers; participating in management of space projects; facilitating project meetings and agendas; contracting for and assisting with coordination of moving jobs; overseeing functioning of all card key readers; serving as crime prevention and safety coordinator; facilitating the purchase of capital equipment and furnishings; and other duties as needed.
REQUIRED: five years of experience in building facilities, systems, and construction; knowledge of building permits and structural knowledge of different laboratory renovations in order to ensure safety and regulatory compliance; demonstrated experience and skill with project management; ability to interact effectively with diverse populations, including building occupants, technical staff, physical plant staff, architects, contractors, and students; ability to take initiative and successfully manage competing priorities; excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills; well-developed organizational and analytical skills; flexibility; meticulous attention to detail; ability to work with confidential information; strong customer service orientation; ability to contribute both as an individual and as part of a team; and the ability to use Microsoft Office. Bachelor's degree and experience in an academic environment preferred. Job #14589-N
