Stonehill College is seeking candidates for the position of Associate Director to be responsible for all aspects of repair and maintenance of the College property as it relates to the skilled trades. Responsible for oversight of small renovation projects as assigned by the AVP & Director of Facilities Management.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university or Associate’s degree and 5 years of related experience. Massachusetts Construction Supervisor’s License – unrestricted. At least 3 years of recent professional experience in a higher education work environment. Must have knowledge of building maintenance skills such as minor carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, light construction and painting. Possess an above average degree of competency and “hands on” experience in the area of building maintenance, repair, assembly and troubleshooting. Must have supervisory experience.
Individual must be able to complete tasks with minimum supervision. Must have knowledge of fire and building codes and of potential occupational hazards associated with all trades. Must work and adhere to all safety standards and practices. Must be willing and able to access all areas of the campus. A general knowledge of all trades being supervised. Supervise union Electricians, HVAC Mechanics, Plumbers, Painter, Maintenance Technicians and Carpenters. Also responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the college’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees and planning, assigning, and directing work. Appraise performance and disciplining employees when needed. Address complaints and resolve problems. Preference given to candidates with higher ed experience and collective bargaining.
