The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will work in close partnership with the Head of School to oversee all aspects of the School’s finances and operations and will have an energetic, collaborative, highly professional and mission-driven focus. Primary responsibilities include development and management of the operating budget, strategic financial planning, facilities management, risk management, and oversight of human resources and the technology program. The scope and scale of this role demands significant expertise and experience: our school has an annual operating budget in excess of $34M, and endowment of $110M, 1,240 students, 280 employees and a campus of 100 acres, with over 500,000 square feet under roof.
The CFO must be able to function at a very high, strategic level, while also attending to details and the day-to-day functioning of the School. S/he must be able to serve as a thinking partner with the Head of School and board leadership, modeling scenarios and projections, and evaluating the pros and cons of any initiative under consideration.
S/he attends all board meetings and serves as the administrative liaison, essentially the co-chair, for the following board committees: Finance and Audit, Facilities and Investments. This position reports directly to the Head of School, is a member of the Administrative Team and Crisis Management Team, and oversees six direct reports and four departments.
